COVID-19 Update: 1,000 Mark Breached, 30 More in Kamrup

GUWAHATI: As on May 29, Assam has recorded 1,024 COVID-19 positive cases and currently has 892 active patients.

In a latest tweet from the Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, 89 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported at 9:40 PM on May 29 with 30 patients from Kamrup, 17 patients from Tinsukia, 14 patients from Guwahati city, 14 patients from Dhubri, 10 patients from Cachar and 4 patients from Dhemaji.

All are from quarantine centres. There has been no community outbreak as yet.

Meanwhile early today, 16 patients were discharged after they tested negative for COVID-19 twice. The break up: 12 from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH), 3 from Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) and 1 from Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH). 

Currently, 125 patients have been discharged from the respective COVID-19 hospitals across Assam.
