GUWAHATI: Coronavirus cases in India stand at 96,169 with over 56,000 active cases and 3,029 deaths across the country so far, as per latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The death toll in the national capital stands at 160 with a total number of 10,054 cases. Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected with 33,053 cases in total; the state has recorded 1,198 deaths which is the highest reported among all states.
Cases continue to rise in the southern state of Tamil Nadu with 11,224 cases and the number of positive cases in Gujarat stands at 11,379 with 659 deaths so far.

In Assam, the total number of persons affected by the deadly virus has touched the 100 mark. The state has 55 active coronavirus positive cases with 2 deaths recorded so far, as per the latest Twitter update by State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on the state tally.
