COVID-19: Number of Patients Cured Surpasses Active Cases in Assam

GUWAHATI: On June 15, the number of patients cured of the novel coronavirus crossed the number of active cases in the state of Assam for the first time.

The Assam government today, on June 16, discharged 188 more COVID-19 patients from various civil, district and model hospitals in Assam after they tested negative for the novel coronavirus.

Taking to Twitter, Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma announced, "Glad to share that 188 patients have been discharged today from various civil, district and model hospitals in Assam, after being tested negative."

With this the total number of patients cured of the virus has gone up to 2,393 with 1,915 active cases and the total number of cases of COVID-19 in Assam stands at 4,319.
