GUWAHATI: Assam health minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced setting up of COVID-19 care hospitals at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre and IIT Guwahati.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal together with Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the preparations for their inauguration which is likely to be done soon.

Maniram Dewan Trade Centre will have 450 beds while IIT-Guwahati will offer 800 beds for COVID-19 patients.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the health minister wrote, "The upcoming 800 & 450-bed #COVID care hospitals at @IITGuwahati & Maniram Dewan Trade Centre, Guwahati respectively shall add up to our pandemic management facilities. Visited both sites with HCM Sri @sarbanandsonwal and reviewed preparations for their inauguration, likely soon."
