GUWAHATI: A CRPF jawan from Assam who got infected with COVID-19 in Delhi, succumbed to death in Delhi on April 28.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Ikram Hussain from Barpeta district.
The 55-year-old jawan died at Safdarjung Hospital and had co-morbidities including diabetes and hypertension.

It is to be mentioned that this is the first death due to the pandemic among the about 10 lakh-personnel-strong Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) or the paramilitary forces that function under the Union Home Ministry for upkeep of internal security and border guarding.
