GUWAHATI: State health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, said on April 2 that all states have been directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be prepared for the coronavirus crisis till Diwali.
Sarma was addressing a press briefing at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
He added that till now Assam has 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and altogether 951 tests have been conducted.

“Tracing work going on for people who were in touch with suspected covid19 positive people. Our aim is to minimise the impact of the Nizamuddin congregation,” said Sarma.
This apart, a new super-speciality building of GMCH, will be inaugurated soon. It has been constructed at a cost of Rs 10.13 crores by the PWD.
