The recount was set to begin on October 7 following a formal complaint by Kuldip Goutam Sharma, who raised concerns about the election results.
The administration had planned to start the recount at 10 AM, with the venue to be announced later. This decision had been approved by the Vice Chancellor to ensure transparency and fairness in response to the complaint.

However, on October 7, the university issued a new notice stating that the recount has been temporarily suspended. The matter has been referred to the Honourable Advocate General of Assam for advice, delaying the process until further notice.

The decision to delay the recount has also been made with the approval of the Vice Chancellor. Students and election candidates are now waiting for further updates from the university regarding the next steps.
