GUWAHATI: A team from the Cyber Police Station, Guwahati recovered ₹7.09 lakh on Monday, October 7 which was credited back into the bank account of a victim from Ajanta Path, Survey. The victim had earlier lost ₹9 lakh in a fraudulent online investment scheme on July 23.

The victim fell prey to a fake online investment platform that promised high returns, a common scam that has been increasing in India in recent years. Despite the initial loss, the Cyber Police, following a thorough investigation, managed to recover a large portion of the stolen funds, providing relief to the victim.
Cybercrime experts have advised people to remain vigilant against such scams and ensure that they verify the authenticity of any online investment schemes before proceeding.
