ABVP Wins Key Positions in Pragjyotish College Students' Union Election 2024

 

GUWAHATI: The results of the Pragjyotish College Students' Union Election for 2024-25 have been declared, with candidates from various student organizations winning key posts. This year’s election saw a major development as the positions of President, General Secretary, and Assistant General Secretary (Open) were won by candidates from the same student organization for the first time in the college’s history.

Altaf Hussain from ABVP was elected as President, Bhargab Rajbongshi from ABVP as General Secretary, and Ritik Kalita as Assistant General Secretary (Open), all representing the same group.

The Vice President post went uncontested to Jarimin Narzary of the Asom Chatra Parishad (ACP), while the Assistant General Secretary (Girls) position was won by Lobsang Choikey. Several other candidates also secured uncontested victories, including Tenzin Tsewang as Secretary of General Sports, Uditya Deka as Secretary of Cricket, Pingkal Chetry as Secretary of Social Service, Gyan Deep Sharma as Secretary of Debate and Symposium, Epshita Baruah as Cultural Secretary, and Anush Mahato as Gymnasium Secretary.

Other wins include Manash Jyoti Nath as Secretary of Boys' Common Room, Partha Jit Talukdar as Editor of the College Magazine, and Ridika Rongpharpi as Secretary of Girls' Common Room. Bithorai Baro was elected Secretary of Minor Games.
