Coronavirus Scare: Is it half hearted approach? Teachers/ Professor to Attend School Despite Ban

GUWAHATI: The state government decision to enforce a blanket ban on the assembly of people due to scare of spreading Corona Virus appears to be an half hearted measure.

As many private and government educational institutions have asked their teachers to remain present despite the government orders.

Even many private schools have not yet intimated the government order to the parents till the filing of this report.

“It’s a blanket ban. But still I think teachers would use their wisdom to be present in the school. There are exams going on it completely depends on the teachers whether they want to attend it or not,” Biswajit Pegu, District Commissioner of Kampur Metro told G Plus.

The ambiguity of the order has made all the teachers into a tizzy.

“I am confused what to do. I have got an whatsapp message that I have to be present in the university….I am also scared… how can teachers and professor could be left out of that ambit of government order,” a professor of leading university on the condition anonymity said.

As per the Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna all educational institution, cinema halls, gyms and swimming pools in the state are to remain closed till March 29, 2020. Further, all examinations except the ongoing CBSE and SEBA board examination has been called off.

Even the Gauhati High Court has dismissed all the cases except for the important ones in the light of the Corona virus pandemic.
