Coronavirus: PM Modi’s Mother Donates Rs 25,000 from her Savings to PM-CARES

GUWAHATI: According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi has donated Rs 25,000 from her savings to the PM-CARES fund to fight Coronavirus.

PM-CARES is an initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mobilize funds for the fight against COVID-19. 

The fund is called the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund or PM-CARES Fund. 

The chairman of the trust is Prime Minister Modi and other members include the Defence Minister, Finance Minister and Home Minister.

It may be noted that Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had also shared an account number for public donations to combat COVID-19. 

Taking to Twitter he had written, "Govt of Assam has been taking every step possible to safeguard health of people in wake of #COVID2019 outbreak. In this hour, every help adds to our strength.
