Congress Stages Walkout in Parliament Demanding Discussion on India-China Border Issue

After Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's address in the Lok Sabha on the India-China border standoff, the Indian National Congress MPs staged a walkout, demanding further discussion on the issue.

The Congress said the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is running away from a debate on the Ladakh crisis. "Why is the government running away from a debate if it believes all is well on the Line of Actual Control," a Congress leader asked.

Reportedly, the Opposition Congress, which had been pressing for discussion on the ongoing standoff with China, weren't allowed to question the defence minister on his statement.

"We wanted clarifications on certain issues but the Speaker didn't allow us to speak. We will keep pressing for a debate on the issue," a Congress leader said.
