Congress President, Rahul Gandhi is “Gabbar singh”: Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: Speaking on the second day of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) National Council summit, Assam Finance Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma called Congress President Rahul Gandhi “Gabbar Singh” and accused the Congress party of being traitors, saying they support Pakistan.

The Finance Minister said that GST is not ‘Gabbar Singh,’ but the Congress president is. He alleged that Gandhi wants to steal from the poor and take away their rights.

Sarma also added that the Congress Party is dragging the issue of the Rafale fighter jets as even small children in the country know that the Indian Air Force (IAF) needs those jets. It is in the country’s best interest.

He said that the Congress party stands with Pakistan and that if the Rafale deal comes through, then Pakistan will not be able to defeat India in air warfare. Thus, Congress is insisting that India does not need Rafale.

Sarma further accused them of being traitors from Babur, the Mughal emperor. He said that it is the BJP’s job to “defeat such powers.”

Speaking on the matter of the National Registrar of Citizens (NRC), the minister said that Prime Minister Modi had started NRC when people had demanded identity along with development and that’s why the BJP and its allies are ruling in all eight northeastern states.
