GUWAHATI: Congress candidate Anil Borgohain and several other Congress campaigners were injured in an incident on April 5 when alleged supporters of Ganashakti and BJP parties attacked a Congress campaign rally at Silapathar under 14 Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituency.
The incident took place at National Highway 515 near Silapathar town when the Congress candidate was coming back from Jonai to Silapathar after an election campaign with his followers.
In protest, Congress supporters blocked the national highway and Borgohain was taken to the hospital.
