This is a step taken to demand justice for students impacted by irregularities in the entrance exam and paper leaks.
Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal has written to all state presidents and Legislature Party leaders, among others, asking them to organise protests at state headquarters on June 21 in which senior leaders have been asked to participate.

As per his letter, with the subject as ‘protest against NEET-UG 2024 irregularities’ and dated Tuesday, June 18, K C Venugopal stated that there are significant concerns over inflated marks and irregularities, and awarding grace marks without disclosing the methodology further raises doubts. The examination has been plagued by technical glitches, malpractice, and unfair means in certain test centres.’

The protest comes days before the first session of the new Lok Sabha starting Monday, June 24, where the Opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc is all set to raise the issue.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader Rahul Gandhi have already questioned the government over the issue.

Organised corruption is evident from arrests made in Bihar, Gujarat and Haryana, “revealing a pattern of malpractice in BJP-ruled states”, he alleged in his letter.

He added that the Supreme Court has also highlighted the seriousness of these allegations, demanding zero tolerance for negligence. Such irregularities undermine the credibility of the examination process and jeopardise the future of countless dedicated students.

He further assured that the Congress party had promised to secure the future of the youth by enforcing strict laws against paper leaks in our manifesto.
On Tuesday, Rahul had questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ‘silence’ on the ‘tampering with the future’ of over 24 lakh students in the NEET examination.
