GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Offered floral tributes to the victims of the October 30, 2008 bomb blasts in Guwahati’s CJM Court, on Wednesday.
A condolence meeting was also held at Ganeshguri following which CM Sonowal offered shraddhanjali to victims of the blasts.
He later took to his twitter handle and stated, “Guwahati. Let us pledge to root out terrorism and create a society on the ideals of peace and happiness.”
October 30 is marked as a black day in the history of Assam, as serial blasts rocked the state in 2008, leaving hundreds of people dead.
The serial blasts took place in Ganeshguri, Panbazaar, Kachari, and Bongaigaon. Over 70 people lost their lives in Guwahati on this day.
