CM Sonowal initiates Nalbari Medical College & Hospital amid AASU's CAB protest

GUWAHATI: CM Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone of Nalbari Medical College & Hospital in Nalbari, Assam and offered 'Bhoomi Pujan' on January 27. The Nalbari Medical College will be the 13th medical college of Assam.

The 500-bedded medical college and hospital will be constructed with a budget of Rs.398.31 crore and will provide academic opportunities for 100 students per year and the construction will be completed in three years.

It is to be mentioned that AASU members in Nalbari protested against Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal's visit at Nalbari by waving black flags. The protestors were arrested by police.

According to reports, the protestors were brutally beaten and injured inside the police station by BJP supporters.
