GUWAHATI: The Crime branch of Guwahati along with Assam police, based on secret tip-off apprehended nine armed dacoits in West Police District in Guwahati.
The gang was apprehended while they were allegedly plotting to loot in the Guwahati area.
According to reports, around six daggers, three masks, nine mobile phones and six monkey caps have been recovered from the possession of the dacoits.
The nine have been identified as Atabur Ali (38), Sahil Hussain (38), Lukman Hussain (24), Abdul Mujib (27), Md. Anowar Islam (27), Md. Aminul Islam (19), Md. Ikrabul Ali (33), Md. Guljar Hussain (24) and Hanif Ali (38).
It is to be mentioned that all the culprits hail from Nagaon and Hojai district of Assam.
A case has been registered in Basistha Police Station and further interrogation and process of legal action is underway.
