Chinese Companies Will Not Participate In Highway Projects Henceforth: Nitin Gadkari

GUWAHATI: Union Minister of Road and Transport, Nitin Gadkari said that Chinese companies will no longer participate in highway projects including joint ventures, after the India-China stand-off at Galwan Valley in Ladakh.

Gadkari also said that a new policy will be out soon banning Chinese firms from road construction work in the country and only the few projects which were undertaken much before the tensions between both countries erupted will continue.

The minister who also holds the portfolio of MSME ministry has mentioned that Chinese investment will no more be entertained in sectors like Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Recently, on June 29, the Indian government had banned 59 Chinese apps owing to cyber security threats.
