GUWAHATI: Chinese troops have been withdrawn at the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh. According to sources, troops on the Indian side of the border have also been pulled back and a buffer zone has been created on both sides of the LAC.
Further, temporary structures that had been illegally built by Chinese soldiers at the site are also being removed on both sides.

According to national media reports, commanders of both the Indian and Chinese armies met for a third round of discussion over the clash which went on for 12 hours on reducing tensions at the Line of Actual Control.
In a violent face off on June 16 between Indian and Chinese troops, at least 20 soldiers were killed. India had blamed clashes on the Chinese, who tried to alter the status quo in the valley. Indian intercepts had also claimed that 43 Chinese soldiers also either lost their lives or were seriously injured.
