Centre Should Accept Assam Accord’s Clause VI Committee’s Report: Akhil Gogoi

GUWAHATI: Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader and RTI activist Akhil Gogoi said on February 20 that the centre should accept the report submitted by the Assam Accord’s Clause VI committee.

He was taken to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Thursday for a health check up.

Gogoi said, “It will be clear that the central government is least bothered about Assam, if it does not accept the Clause VI committee’s report within March 15.”

As per reports, although the report was signed by the committee on February 10, the Centre is unlikely to accept some recommendations of the high-level committee on Assam Accord’s Clause 6.

It is to be mentioned that social activist Medha Patkar along with social activist and Magsaysay Award winner Sandeep Pandey visited Akhil Gogoi at the Central Jail in Guwahati on February 19.
