GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court has ordered Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry against former Assam director-general of police Khagen Sarma and his spouse Bandana Sarma.
The order came in response to two writ petitions filed in 2010 wherein the petitioners had alleged that a plot of land owned by them was sold to Bandana Sarma by fraudulent means and that the land grabbers were exerting pressure with the help of police to vacate the property.

The Court, on Thursday (June 6), also directed Assistant Solicitor General of India SC Keyal and senior Government advocate to transfer the necessary records of the case to the CBI within 15 days.
