GUWAHATI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launched an extensive operation, conducting searches at 92 locations across five states and union territories as part of an investigation into 41 cases of unregulated deposit schemes in Assam. The investigation follows a request by the Assam government for CBI intervention.

During these searches, the CBI seized a range of electronic evidence, including 24 mobile phones, 18 desktops, 7 hard drives, and 11 laptops. Investigators also located databases containing information about depositors deceived by these unregulated schemes.
CBI also apprehended the primary accused in a case related to AJRS Marketing Pvt. Ltd. The suspect, who had been in hiding, was found at a location in Siliguri, where authorities also recovered additional evidence. Following his arrest, he was presented before the Special Judge for CBI Cases, who granted CBI custody for further questioning and investigation.
