Campaigning for second phase elections ends

GUWAHATI: With the second phase of Lok Sabha elections set to take place on Thursday, April 18, campaigning for the seats going to polls in the second phase came to an end on Tuesday.

From Assam, Karimganj, Silchar, Autonomous District, Mangaldoi, and Nowgong constituencies will go to polls in the second phase. These five seats will see voting from close to 69.10 lakh voters.

There are a total of 50 candidates in fray from these five seats, out of which three are women, 19 independent candidates and seven others. Further, a total of 8,992 polling stations have been set up for the second phase.
