GUWAHATI: Amid the tension regarding Citizenship Amendment Act, United Nation’s on December 26 stated that the act is fundamentally discriminatory.
The UN asked the Supreme Court of India to carefully consider the compatibility of the law with India’s human rights.
"We are concerned that India’s new Citizenship Amendment Act is fundamentally discriminatory in nature & hope the Supreme Court of #India will consider carefully the compatibility of the law with India’s int'l human rights obligations", tweeted UN.
