GUWAHATI: Post the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protests took place all over Assam, many individuals and citizens have been detained with several still waiting to know their fate.
Amrit Dutta is one of those who were apprehended for allegedly protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act and is now behind bars.
However, now Dutta has become an internet sensation after a picture of him celebrating his daughter’s birthday and cutting her birthday cake from behind the bars, has gone viral. With his daughter’s first birthday being celebrated, Amrit decided to have her birthday inside the prision premisies so that he could be by her.
It needs to be mentioned that Assam police has detained many people including leaders of organisations such as KMSS and Lachit Sena post CAA protests.
