GUWAHATI: Assam BJP finalised its candidates’ panel for three Legislative Assembly constituencies of Assam on Wednesday, September 25.
These constituencies will go to bypolls on October 21.
However, it should be noted that the party is yet to shortlist its panel of candidates for the Jania constituency.
Based on reports, an election committee meeting was held by the State BJP in Guwahati where they finalised the candidates’ panel for the Sonari, Rangapara and Ratabari constituencies.
The shortlisted candidates for Sonari include Swakhar Jyoti Gogoi, Nabanita Handique and Anup Singh Rajpurohit.
For Rangapara, the shortlisted candidates include Rajen Borthakur, Keshab Upadhyay and Bata Surang.
While for Ratabari, the candidates are Jaydev Das, Vijay Malakar and Sunil Bill.
The election committee meeting was attended by CM Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, State BJP President Ranjeet Kumas Dass and other leaders of the party.
The committee will now forward this list of shortlisted candidates to the national committee.
