GUWAHATI: A woman who worked for the Border Security Force (BSF) was found dead in the battalion complex where she was stationed on March 20 under mysterious circumstances.

She was based at the Tura headquarters in Meghalaya, but she was sent to Cooch Behar to compete in a karate championship with the 129 battalions of the BSF, as per media reports.

Even though the BSF said in preliminary reports that the constable killed himself, the family and friends of the constable are still not happy with the border force's explanation, as per media reports.

Dhritashri Rabha, the 28-year-old Border Security Force karate expert and sports champion, went to the 129 Battalion in Cooch Behar on July 20, 2022, to compete in a karate tournament. She was stationed at the 45th Battalion BSF in Hallaidiganj, which is in the Meghalaya district of West Garo Hills.

Dhritashri came from the village of Dakuapara in the Kamrup district of Assam. She was the only breadwinner of the family. She had just bought a piece of land.

As per media reports, she had been talking to her family until late the night before.

Her body was sent for a post-mortem in Cooch Behar and on Tuesday morning, members of the BSF brought her body from Cooch Behar to her home in Dakuapara, as per media reports.
