GUWAHATI: To curb cross-border smuggling, Border Security Force (BSF) troops in Meghalaya intercepted multiple smuggling operations, seizing contraband items valued at over ₹16 lakh along the international border.

The operation occurred on October 24 near Meghalaya borders.
Acting on specific intelligence, the 4th Battalion of the BSF launched special operations near the border, which led to the recovery of 27 cattle hidden in a jungle area. The cattle, intended for smuggling into Bangladesh, have been handed over to the PPP Muktapur for further legal action.
