In the wake of the recent notification by the Government Of Assam instructing mobile service providers to suspend internet services for a period of 24 hours starting at 1900 hours today, the 11th of December 2019, it has to be mentioned that this move will only effect mobile internet services which excludes Internet Service Providers that provide internet through broadband, fibre and the like.
The shutdown order which went out to major telecom operators Vodafone, Airtel, BSNL and Jio has not included in its ambit, internet service providers like Tata, MNet, RailTel and others and they will continue with their internet services until further notification.
This was confirmed by officials from MNet and RailTel and further validated by Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Political Department, Govt Of Assam, Kumar Sanjay Krishna while exclusively speaking to G Plus.
