GUWAHATI: Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is set to enhance the Brahmaputra Riverfront view, extending it all the way to the ropeway terminal at Kachari Ghat in Guwahati.
Talking to GPlus, Narayan Deka, Chairman of GMDA said, "The extended area is slated to feature a children's park and an additional pond, providing residents and visitors with more recreational spaces along the riverfront. Construction is already underway".
On January 20, Union Minister Amit Shah will officially inaugurate the Brahmaputra Riverfront beautification project in Panbazar, Guwahati.
The project aims to breathe new life into the riverfront, offering a vibrant space that fosters tourism, economic activities, and provides recreational spots for locals.
Earlier talking to GPlus, another GMDA official said, "The Riverfront view is designed with spaces for jogging, walking, and benches under the trees, providing a serene atmosphere for visitors. Additionally, the view promises to be a perfect spot to witness the mesmersing sunset over the Brahmaputra"
