Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary organised a press conference on Saturday, January 27 at Administrative Staff College, Khanapara.

Addressing the media, Chandra Mohan Patowary said, "Barak Valley dredging has started and is likely to be completed by July. The dredging for Brahmaputra will formally begin after Advantage Assam.” The government also announced that they have access up to Chittagong port in Bangladesh where dredging can be done.

Accusing the Congress government of laid back attitude during their governance in Assam, he said, "During their tenure, the Congress government did not do anything to develop the industrial infrastructure in the State. Instead, they just constructed a few buildings, which are not useful."
