GUWAHATI: Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale appealed to people to boycott Chinese food.
Athawale is a social activist, senior Buddhist and Ambedkarite from Maharashtra. He is also president of the Republican Party of India, a splinter group of the Republican Party of India which has its roots in the Scheduled Castes Federation led by Dr BR Ambedkar.
“Restaurants selling Chinese food should be banned. I appeal to people to boycott Chinese food,” said the minister.

The hashtag #BoycottChina was trending on almost all social media platforms about a week ago as a majority of netizens urged people to boycott Chinese products.
