Speaking to the press, the Olympic medalist reportedly expressed her disappointment at India’s lack of medals in the boxing category from the Paris 2024 Olympics. She has also emphasised the need for more effort from athletes and better focus from the boxing federation.

"I am planning to make a comeback...I will try to make a comeback in pro-boxing," said Kom. While participating in events promoting sports, she shared her concerns about the country's performance on the global stage. "I feel very bad because we could not win any medal (in Paris). I urge the boxers to work harder, and the federation should focus on the shortcomings."

Mary Kom's comments come after she was replaced by shooter Gagan Narang as the Chef-de-Mission for India's contingent at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Hailing from Manipur, the six-time world champion and 2012 London Olympics bronze medallist is one of India’s most decorated athletes. Kom, known as the "Magnificent Mary," has been nothing short of an inspiration for women in sports.

At the age of 41, her potential return to pro-boxing could mark another remarkable chapter in her illustrious career.
