Bottles Of Codeine And Nitrazepam Tablets Seized From A Residence In Assam

 

GUWAHATI: In a major drug bust, Nagaon police successfully seized a substantial quantity of controlled substances from a residence in Nagaon.

The operation was carried out in the Nabin Nagar, Dhing Gate, Haibargaon area of Nagaon district, Assam.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of 1,531 bottles of Codeine, each containing 100 ml of the potent medication, along with a staggering haul of 39,252 tablets of Nitrazepam.

The raid was conducted following a thorough investigation and surveillance by the Nagaon Police Officials.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of officers from the Nagaon Police Department swiftly executed the operation at the suspect's residence. Three individuals were apprehended at the scene and taken into custody for further questioning and legal proceedings.

Codeine is a powerful opioid painkiller, commonly prescribed for severe pain relief, while Nitrazepam is a benzodiazepine used to treat insomnia and anxiety disorders.

Both substances are classified as Schedule H drugs and strictly regulated due to their potential for abuse and harmful effects on health.
