GUWAHATI: The body of a man was found inside the vehicle of SIS Prosegur, a cash management company, which was parked near the Geeta Mandir in Guwahati on October 30.
The deceased has been identified as Samaranjan Das who was 60 years of age.
Speaking to GPlus, a police official of Noonmati Police Station said, "Das was termed as mentally challenged by his family members and used to run away from his house on frequent occasions".
As per reports, Das before his death had run away and didn't show up at home for three days.
According to the police official, local residents mentioned seeing the vehicle parked near the temple from Friday through Sunday without any movement and it was empty. However, on Monday, to their shock, they discovered Das's body inside the vehicle.
There weren't any injury marks on the body, as per reports.
An investigation has been initiated following this incident, and the police have sent the body for post-mortem to assess the reason for death.
