GUWAHATI: Amid the mass protests against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) on December 10, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislator from Rangapara constituency, Rajen Borthakur lost his life due to kidney-related ailments.
He was 54-years-old.
Borthakur took his last at TIMeS Hospital in Tezpur at around 10.30 pm.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal gave his condolences on the sudden demise of the MLA and stated, ““I am deeply saddened by the sudden demise of Rangapara MLA Rajen Borthakur. Late Borthakur was committed to the cause of the people and served the State with sincerity and dedication.”
