GUWAHATI: A 45-year-old man was reportedly killed after he was run over by an elephant herd on Wednesday in the Hojai district of Assam.
The victim, who has been identified as Sareth Samse, was reportedly riding his motorbike in the direction of Baithalangso in the West Karbi Anglong area when he was attacked by a group of elephants, as stated by media reports.
Samse halted his bike as soon as he saw the elephants, but before he could get away from the area, he was attacked by the herd and trampled to death. The incident occurred before Samse had the opportunity to leave the area, as per media reports, as per reports.
The Hojai Police while speaking to G Plus said that the victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the attack, and several residents who discovered him later took him to the hospital for medical aid. The deceased was however declared brought dead by the doctors.
