At 43 Lakh, India Records World's Largest COVID-19 Recoveries

GUWAHATI: India occupied the top position in the world in terms of total COVID-19 recoveries with the recovery of more than 43 lakh people. 


As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India's recoveries constitute 19% of total global recoveries. The USA occupies the second position with 18.7% recoveries followed by Brazil (16.90%), Russia (4%), and South Africa (2.6%).


India's COVID-19 case tally stands at 54.87 lakh positive cases with a spike of 86,961 new cases and 1,130 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of tests done during the previous day was 7,31,534 units. 


The country has 10,03,299 active COVID-19 cases. While 43,96,399 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated, 87,882 persons have succumbed to the virus.
