Assam’s Rangia To Get Full-Fledged Cricket Venue, States BCCI Secretary Saikia

 

GUWAHATI: BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia on Sunday, February 9, announced plans to develop a full-fledged cricket venue at Rangia from Assam's Kamrup district. He said this while visiting the Rangia District Sports Association (RDSA) ground.

Saikia additionally assured that a BCCI-conducted match would be hosted at the ground in the near future.

During this visit, he pledged support for infrastructural upgrades, including the construction of boundary walls and other essential facilities to meet BCCI standards.

Saikia was accompanied by Mukutananda Bhattacharjya, General Secretary of RDSA; Sanjay Talukdar, Vice President of RDSA; Nayan Jyoti Das, Cricket Secretary of RDSA; Nasir Gul Khan, Sports Secretary (Cricket) of Guwahati Sports Association (GSA); and Promod Rajbongshi, Executive Member of GSA.

The initiative has been particularly taken to enhance cricketing opportunities in the region and provide local players with a better platform to hone their skills.
