GUWAHATI: The Office of the Inspector of Schools, Sivasagar District Circle, recently issued a directive restricting the use of mobile phones by teachers during class hours.

The order, signed by Deva Jyoti Gogoi, has been passed to ensure discipline and maintain an undisturbed learning environment in educational institutions.
According to the notification, teachers are now prohibited from carrying and using mobile phones for personal purposes inside the classroom. However, an exception has been made for attendance recording and other essential academic purposes.
The directive has further stated that if a mobile phone is required for any academic activity during classroom transactions, prior approval must be obtained from the head of the institution.
It has been stated that non-compliance with the order may result in appropriate action.
