GUWAHATI : Assam's eminent folklorist and author Prabin Chandra Das passed away last night, September 4, in Guwahati at the age of 80.
He was admitted at a private hospital in Guwahati after he suffered a brain stroke on Friday, August 26, while delivering a speech at an academic seminar held in Nagaon Girls College.
Born in 1941 in Nagaon, he was a graduate of Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College, Nagaon. He retired as a professor of the Department of Folklore Research at Gauhati University.
Some of his work included, ‘Xomaz Xahitya Xongskriti', ‘Boxontar Bauli BukusaBukusa', ‘Seuj Monot Din', ‘Bon Birinar Sat'.
