GUWAHATI: In what can be termed as sad and bizarre, two deaths from Uzanbazar were reported on Diwali night. The first death was of Assamese actress Jharna Choudhury Bishaya, who was found dead in her bedroom at Uzanbazar. The second death was of her friend Vishal Hazarika.
Jharna has acted in a number of Assamese serials and lived with her husband at the railways quarters near Jahajghat, Uzanbazar. Her husband was at his office during the time of the incident.

According to media reports, Jharna committed suicide by hanging herself in her bedroom and was found by Vishal Hazarika (friend) who took her to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital and later Vishal was also found dead in a park at Uzanbazar.
Police is still trying to find out the reasons behind the deaths.
