GUWAHATI: Noted Assamese actor Shankar Chakraborty passed away on Saturday, October 3 at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati.
He was suffering from kidney-related ailments and had also tested positive for COVID-19.
Shankar Chakraborty, 48, was admitted to the ICU of GMCH where he breathed his last.
Chakraborty leaves behind his wife and daughter.
An acclaimed actor, Chakraborty has acted in Bordoisila, Kohinoor, as well as Bhramyaman theatres. He has acted in many popular plays such as Moromor Bandhobi Bidai Diya, Radha Ebar Hahi Diya, Asthapath, and Pratighat, among others.
