GUWAHATI: The World’s Largest Statue of Bir Lachit Barphukan in Jorhat is expected to be ready and inaugurated by January 2024.
The statue 125 ft in height, is expected to have a project cost of ₹120 crore.

Additionally, a museum on Ahom history is also planned to be set up along with the statue in the Hollongapar in Jorhat.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the site to check on the progress of the construction.
According to official information, a total of 50 bigha land is being utilised for the construction of the entire project.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to put out, "The world’s tallest statue of Bir Lachit Barphukan is expected to be ready by January 2024. Earlier today, I visited the construction site.
