GUWAHATI: Hema Prabha Chutia from Moran in Dibrugarh district weaved the Bhagavad Gita on cloth in Sanskrit.

Bhagavad Gita is a 700 verse Hindu scripture in Sanskrit that is part of the Hindu epic Mahabharata.

She has accomplished this on Sunday, 27th August, as per traditional rituals.

Hema started the process of weaving on December 4, 2016.

Before this, in 2014, the noted weaver had weaved six stanzas of Sankardev Gunamala on a 17-inch broad and 80-feet long Guna and Muga Silk cloth, which took her nine months to complete.

Earlier, she received ‘Bakul Bon Award’, ‘Aai Kanaklata Award’ and State Government’s ‘Handloom and Textile Award’ for her excellence towards weaving.
