GUWAHATI: A 38-year-old man was detained by Assam police on June 18 from Haryana and rescued and brought back a married woman who had run away from her house in Bongaigaon district.
Reportedly, the woman connected with a man named Jogendra Tony Verma through social networking site Facebook and developed friendship.

The duo decided to elope and left for Haryana in March this year by boarding a train from Bongaigaon Railway Station.
The woman’s family later filed a case after they found her missing. The police then launched a search operation to find the woman.
