GUWAHATI: A woman cut off a man's private parts in the Boramari area of Morigaon district on Monday.
The woman claimed she did so in self-defence after he allegedly raped her.
The man in question has been identified as Osman Ali, who, according to preliminary police investigations, revealed that he had been operating as a quack doctor in the area for a considerable period.
As per police sources, Ali went to the woman's house on Monday because she was taking treatment from him.
The victim has been referred to GMCH for treatment, the Morigaon police said while speaking to G Plus.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, and the woman has undergone a medical examination.
