GUWAHATI: Guwahati’s Pritom Boro won the Silver medal in the Senior Mens’ Left Hand 105 kg weight category in BCAI National Arm-wrestling Championship, on Sunday in Bengaluru.
Pritom has been selected to represent the country in the World Arm-wrestling Championship 2023 which is set to be held in Malaysia, as per media reports.
The Gold medal was won by Amit Choudhary and the bronze medal by Rajan Bisht in the respective event.
Ishan Kashyap of Jorhat also clinched the Gold Medal in the Senior Men 86 kg Right Hand Category & Silver Medal in the Senior Men 86Kg Left Hand Category in National Arm-wrestling Championship 2023 held in the same event and also got selected to represent India in IFA World Arm-wrestling Championship 2023 to be held in Malaysia from September 26 to October 2, 2023.
The Participating states in the competition were Assam, Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Nagaland, and Goa with over 400 athletes participating in various categories.
BCAI National Arm-wrestling Championship is a premier Arm-wrestling championship of the country under the Board of Control for Arm-wrestling in India (BCAI) which is affiliated with the International Federation of Arm-wrestling (IFA).
