Assam was never a part of India and will never be: Pranamoy Rajguru

GUWAHATI: Pranamoy Rajguru, one of the prime accused in Guwahati grenade blast case, has said that Assam was never a part of India and will never be in the future. 
 
Rajguru made this statement before the  members of the media when he was being escorted to the court from the Latasil police station on May 17. He was produced before the judicial magistrate after his arrest on May 16 in connection with Guwahati grenade blast.

Denying his role in the explosion, Rajguru said: “I am part of the revolution, not the explosion. Our struggle will continue. My land is my pride. I love my people and my country. If that is a crime then yes I am a criminal. 

Jahnabi Saikia (40), another accused in the case, was also produced before the judicial magistrate on May 17.

Both of them were sent to 10-day police custody. 
 
According to police, though Rajguru’s faction is negotiating peace talks with the Central government, he has been actively working for the other faction led by the elusive commander-in-chief of the ULFA(I) .
